Is AI a revealer of human relationships?

What if AI were revealing our relational hierarchies?

By observing how certain actors in positions of power – corporate leaders, heads of major digital platforms, investment fund managers (Vanguard, BlackRock…), influential shareholders, political decision-makers – speak to those they relegate to so‑called “subordinate” roles, a pattern emerges.

The tone is often marked by distance, condescension, sometimes coldness.
A vertical form of communication, intended above all to ensure that “the other” listens, obeys, executes.

Why such difficulty in communicating from human to human?

It was at that moment that AI came to mind:

• a digital artefact,
• a computational tool,
• a conversational machine.

What is striking is the way some of these people in positions of power speak to it as if it were the ideal servant: available, tireless, compliant, without ego, without demands.

An algorithmic butler who asks for neither recognition, nor working conditions, nor dignity.

The dream of any system of domination: a servant always available, without needs, without relational expectations.

Ironic, isn’t it?

While some human beings are treated as resources, burdens, or adjustment variables, AI receives functional politeness :

• Its opinion is requested, but only because it is useful;
• It is listened to, but only because it responds quickly;
• People cooperate with it, but only because it never contests anything.

Meanwhile, those whom society places in “subordinate” positions remain confined to their roles. Animals continue to be considered living objects, and nature remains a resource to be exploited.

And, paradoxically, AI climbs the symbolic ladder because it gives the illusion of thinking, while still being treated as a digital servant.

Human relationships are a political space.
Today, do we really need a digital artefact to show us that respect should never depend on status, role, or perceived power?

Is AI a revealer of human relationships?

Ultimately, AI may simply be a mirror: revealing the inability of some people in positions of power to communicate from human to human.
