An exceptional 83-page issue on conflict, war, and peace. Conflicts are often seen as negative events to be avoided, an obstacle to cooperative approaches.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Conflicts are inevitable; they are part of life. Without conflict, no societal progress would be possible. It is in the interest of a democratic society to allow for a clash of visions, solutions, and contradictory projects in order to bring about the best possible compromise, one that enjoys the broadest support.
The value of cooperative approaches lies in enabling optimal conflict management to prevent hatred and violence. To create this issue, we started with current events:
The Russian aggression in Ukraine.
- We gave a voice to direct witnesses, both Russian and Ukrainian.
- We sought to analyze the roots and causes of the conflict.
- Then we listened to those who advocate for the development of a culture of peace, in contrast to those who promote the worship of violence and weapons.
- Finally, we offer a methodological guide on conflict management.
