Artificial intelligence has burst onto the scene in all areas of social life: advertising, information, scientific research, medicine, education, citizenship, defense, etc. A key question arises: will we be able to use it to strengthen collective intelligence and facilitate education, research, and political decision-making, or will we suffer its harmful effects: misinformation, the destruction of democracy, state control, and heightened national rivalries? This issue of Cooperative Approaches addresses the problem and gives a voice to government actors as well as citizen initiatives determined to take up the challenge.
